You talkin' begin, as in brand new? No problem ... I got you. As we've said this is Inning One. Some folks haven't even made it into the ballpark. Hell, some people don't even know what sport this is.
But you made it here. And that's half the battle. Not to fret.
In order to enter into the Crypto World, you need to first get off of the central cryptocurrency exchanges. The goal is to be independent - in every sense of the world. Full custodianship of your assets is the aim.
Central cryptocurrency exchanges include platforms such as: Coinbase, FTX, Binance, Kraken. There are several on-chain routes that you can go. We primarily operate on the Etherium (ETH) chain. Although we do speculate on STX and Solana chains, we'll start with Etherium.
Metamask https://metamask.io/, in sum, will be your Step 1. Metamask is a hot wallet. An online extension that will allow you to send your Etherium (and other assets) in order to make purchases on Opensea https://opensea.io/ which is currently the largest online NFT marketplace.
What you'll need to do is first accumulate Etherium (purchase) and then transfer your Etherium to your Metamask. The first transfer will take a leap of faith - as you'll be sending to an address without any oversight. Luckily, the chances of you sending to the incorrect wallet address are infinitesimally small. Your Metamask will have a "wallet address" link and all you need to do is copy & paste. Once you do so, funds will show in your database.
